Snow and weather update - 2.30pm Friday 10 February

10/02/2012

As at 2.30pm, across the country over 97% of trains are operating, with well over four out of five getting in on time.

A spokesperson for the Association of Train Operating Companies (ATOC) said: "The railways are open for business today. Across the country no significant disruption has been reported due to the bad weather with the vast majority of trains continuing to run on time. Where there has been some disruption, however, we apologise to anyone who has had trouble getting to where they want to go.

"Train companies and Network Rail will continue to work round the clock to keep tracks and points clear of snow and ice to minimise any disruption for passengers as far as possible.

“In the event that snow or icy conditions are predicted, people can log onto nationalrail.co.uk or sign-up for free Twitter alerts to find out how their train service is running.”
