ATOC response to ORR statement on licensing for PIDD
08/02/2012A spokesperson for the Association of Train Companies said: “Significant amounts of time and money have been invested in providing better, more consistent information for passengers – both before and during consultation on the ORR’s proposals. But we know that more needs to be done, which is why operators are working with the rest of the industry to improve things even further.
“Licensing is a significant and permanent step, so it is vital that we get it right. Train companies have said for some time that it is vital to ensure the Code of Practice is fit for purpose under this new approach. We believe a month’s extension is necessary if we are to succeed in getting this right in a way that will benefit passengers and taxpayers.”
