ATOC Engineering Council exists to foster a common approach amongst passenger train operators to railway engineering activity in the UK.
The aim of all our work is to assist reliability and efficiency improvement in passenger rolling stock engineering among our member companies.
Key Activities include:
We do this through organising workshops and conferences, through publishing and circulating information to members, and by taking part in relevant cross-industry committees and working parties which are shaping railway engineering practices for the future. A small team of engineers at ATOC supports the efforts of Council Members from the participating companies.
ATOC manages the Professional Engineering Development Scheme for engineering undergraduates and graduates seeking a career in mechanical or electrical engineering with UK passenger and freight train operators, or with the train specialists within Network Rail. For details of the scheme and the career opportunities it select the Graduates link from the main menu.
ATOC Engineering Council also publishes useful documents to authorised users in relevant companies on the ATOC Engineering Extranet site.
