Photo Upload

Any photos needed for rail staff travel cards and passes can now be sent online. Simply follow the instructions in this section.

Remember that holders of retired rail staff travel cards and passes do not need a photo ID.

Useful tip

Photos taken digitally will give the best results, ie rather than scanning a print. You don't necessarily need a digitial camera: photos taken on mobile phones are usually good enough, and certainly better than scanned prints.

Select your photo

Your photo should be passport-office acceptable (see sample image below).

This means:

Full face head shot, front facing and not on an angle
Plain, flat, contrasting background
Neutral expression
Colour, not black and white

Please ensure that the image that you upload meets the following specification:

1. Images size must be at least 413 pixels wide by 531 pixels high
2. Image file as jpg format
3. Maximum file size 250kb (NB 60kb for First ScotRail SmartCard photos)
4. Images must digital and not scanned

Images that do not conform with the specification above will be rejected.
